ABOUT KURT PHILION

As a professional in the industry, Kurt has been involved with audio production dating back to the year 2001.
With over 20 years of voice work, audio mixing/producing and commercial writing,
you will find that taking pride in one's work is Kurt's forte.
Accommodating your wants and needs when it comes to a finished product is what this guy strives for.
The audio work started during his college days at Northland Community & Technical College in Thief River Falls, MN. In college during broadcast journalism courses taken, Kurt was able to work on a live station (90.1 FM KSRQ) where air shifts were necessary and audio production was a big part.
Along with commercials, Kurt was responsible for several different items in the radio industry that included producing shows, live on air shifts along with interviews for news stories, sports play by play and beyond.
Following the college days, Kurt found a full time position with a cluster of stations based out of Ada & Mahnomen, MN. Full time work (and plenty of it!) was established for the following 15 years from 2002-2017 where he wore many hats, much like the college radio station. At KRJB/KRJM Kurt was part of the news team gathering information, interviews, producing news stories & attending events, along with sales/marketing for the stations, many area high school sports doing play by play or color commentary and yes, you guessed it - audio production & copy writing of prerecorded shows, commercials and live programs across the network.
During the early years of full time radio, Kurt took voice lessons from one of the most profound studios in the US for voice over artists, Edge Studio out of New York. Kurt worked with one of the lead instructors from Edge Studio, David Goldberg back in 2004. Though sessions were only held over the phone, Kurt was able to catch on to some quality learning from one of the top (he says THE top) voice over coaches in the nation.

So when it comes to working with media stations, advertising agencies, companies and other organizations who are needing someone to be their voice, Kurt says:
"The finished product should be what you are looking for and wanting to hear, not what I think is best. I make sure the customer is always taken care of with all of my projects."

Experience goes a long way. This experienced professional is ready to be your next voice!
